How It Works:
#1 Q: How does the Bitkey application work as a cold wallet.
A: Bitkey has no app server. All your data(bitcoin address and private keys) is saved locally, and backup in your own iCloud document.
And, the data backup in your iCloud document is encrypted by your password. Actually, the raw bitcoin private key just temporary exists in your device memory (RAM). (When you use the key to sign a transaction locally). So with the excellent iOS sandbox isolation mechanisms we can define Bitkey app as a cold wallet.

A: It's a cold wallet, you just use it to keep your bitcoin keys safe from stolen or lost. The concept “withdraw my funds” usually be used in the context of “hot wallet/website” or “bitcoin market website”.

A: It's a cold wallet, you just can import bitcoin private keys to the app. The concept “added money to the account” usually be used in the context of “hot wallet/website” or “bitcoin market website”.
#4 Q: How can I make a transaction/pay?
A: Bitkey provide “transaction sign tool”, you can use the tool to sign a transaction locally and then broadcast it to the bitcoin network.
Notes:
1. At the first launch of the app, You should allow the app to use your iCloud.
2. At the first time, you launch the app, You should set up your encrypt-password to protect the data.
3. Then every time you launch the app you need to enter the password to decrypt your data.
WARNING:
Your encrypt password will never be stored on your device or upload to iCloud. It just temporary exists in memory to decrypt data after you enter them. Without the password, there is no way to decrypt your data. So when you set or reset the password you may always provide some appropriate password hint. The password hint will be back up and uploaded to iCloud.
